Premise

[edit]

MePhone's reality show competition finale with Suitcase and Knife contestants is jeopardized when his creator's past reemerges, endangering participants and threatening an unresolved ending.[2]

Plot

[edit]

The movie starts with the Light Shimmers chasing MePhone1, MePhone3G and MePhone3GS, who are robbing unhatched shimmers. MePhone1 is slain by one of the Shimmer's spear, but the group proceeds. MePhone 3GS activates the Meeple Spaceship, and MePhone3G barely makes it to the ship before being slain with another spear. The Meeple spaceship escapes with MePhone3GS and only one egg, with the other falling off of the bridge and into space.

MePhone4 welcomes the viewers once again, as Steve Cobs tries to call him while he keeps denying the calls. He then proceeds to present never-before-seen interviews of Suitcase and Knife, the season's finalists, auditioning for their respective debuting seasons.

Suitcase and Knife enter Hotel OJ, as it's owner and Paper welcome them to a party where everyone (except Tissues and the people currently at the Purgatory Mansion) is hanging out. Suitcase and Balloon begin a conversation about their relationships with everyone, and Balloon gets uncomfortable when being mentioned to Nickel. Later, Knife and Trophy discuss about the finalist's performance throughout the season. As Suitcase and Balloon's conversation continues, Nickel and Fan come along and mentions Season 3, which freaks Suitcase out. At this moment Cabby, Candle and later Goo appear and try to calm her down, but fail as she gets angry towards MePhone4, which heads to a room with Tissues, who tries to share a silence before returning to his coughing.

Taco, accompanied by MePad, heads towards Pickle's room and tries apologizing to him. Pickle exclaims he burnt Taco's letters, but Taco continues with her apology, explaining she never wanted to drag Pickle in her plans for Season 1. Pickle then calls Taco stupid, which maddens her. While MePhone4 talks to Tissues, he hears screams from other room, to then find Taco crying with Pickle's faceless corpse, which he can't recover with MeLife. MePad defends Taco and tells MePhone4 he didn't trust them. MePhone4 then exclaims that Steve Cobs had arrived and he needed MePad's help, which he denies for he officially resignated from the show. MePhone4 tells MePad to do it for Taco, not him. Back in the lobby, Suitcase talks to Knife about what she's heard, and MePad teleports to tell her everything's alright, as well as announcing the final challenge beginning soon.

MePhone4 explains the challenge, which is to head towards the Meeple Headquarters with the hot-air balloon and defeat Steve Cobs. Suitcase asks him about him making another season, and he asks not to be interrupted. As the finalists start their challenge, MePhone4 says he's not afraid of Steve Cobs, but he has to stay alive or else it's "game over", and he doesn't know how to recover Pickle. He then asks Baseball and Lightbulb to protect him and everyone while he hides inside the closet. Fan hears sounds from above and tells everyone to beware of the Egg and join an adventure. Paper is worried, as the Spoiled Lemon show would become pointless, and Starfruit nervously mentions that Guava ditched the band. Baseball tries telling everyone to stay safe, but Lightbulb then tells everyone they can go outside, and Paintbrush, Test Tube and Fan proceed to leave together.

Before arriving to the Headquarters, Suitcase talks to Knife about getting away from all the drama. He tells her to not give her bad memories power, and Knife responds that she's starting to sound like MePhone4. They arrive to the Headquarters, and an assistant welcomes them with a message from CEO Steve Cobs ("The Future Is So Yesterday"). Suitcase finds the room where MePhone3GS was trapped. Yin-Yang asks Baseball why he told them not to go out, and he tries to respond to him as the Cherries suspect it was a prank. Baseball then asks Lightbulb what was going on, and she responds by not knowing and trying to keep "THE peace" between them two. OJ walks into a room and asks Paper to make the hats the shape of OJ, and he complains about him being so centered around himself. OJ then hears a siren. Lightbulb tries to make her own weird noises. OJ is the only one to hear this siren, and everyone wonders why he's starting to act weirdly. Only OJ sees MePhoneX in the room as he gets closer to him and starts panicking out. OJ then loses his face and limbs just like with Pickle, and everyone in the room screams.

Paintbrush, Test Tube and Fan arrive to the Purgatory Mansion, which was indicated to be source of the weird noises by one of Test Tube's gadgets. The Mansion's entrance door opens, and they head inside to find Bow screaming and Dough. Test Tube suspects from Bow since her screams sound like the Egg Spaceship, and Bow is confused. Bow then welcomes them to the mansion and starts talking to Paintbrush about how she got her tail, and Test Tube and Fan start to suspect the Mansion was set to form a dead end. Marshmallow goes down the stairs because the TV remote is malfunctioning. Everyone is surprised by her return, and Apple is surprised someone came in.

Heading back to the Headquarters, Suitcase proceeds to enter the room along with Knife, who's concerned about Steve Cobs branding everything with "Me". Inside the room, she finds an unfunctional Mecintosh. Knife tries booting MePhone3GS up, but he wakes up without his need. He says it's good to see someone. Knife asks help for a "Top Secret project", and MePhone3GS responds by checking his empty schedule. Knife then brings Cobs up, and MePhone3GS starts to malfunction as he comes to mind. He then explains how he survived the Prime Shimmer's attack but was underrated by Cobs even though he accomplished his mission. Knife finds a map to Cobs' room, and heads out with Suitcase. MePhone3GS warns them not to go, but isn't listened.

At Hotel OJ, Lightbulb tries to cheer up everyone after OJ's death, saying that it may have been an "Isolated incident" (or for short "II"), and Baseball heads to take a peek at the room where Taco stands with MePad and the dead body. He tries to comfort Nickel, who congratulates him for his positivity but still despises his timing. Nickel then hears the siren to soon after be attacked by MePhoneX, with Baseball showing a very terrified look on his face. Everyone screams along, such as Microphone and Starfruit worriedly and fearfully looking for Soap and Guava, hinting that they may have both got deleted off-screen. Lightbulb appears sort of scared to Baseball, who wants to keep the moment dark and tells everyone he doesn't know what to do, yet he's not afraid. He also asks for everyone to contact him if anything happened. MePhone4 proceeds to himself call Steve Cobs.

Suitcase and Knife enter Cobs' room, and he appears to know everything that happened. Suitcase asks him about the Shimmer, and Cobs ignores her question by connecting it to his "Me" branding. Knife doesn't believe in him, and asks him if he had the ability to kill objects. Steve Cobs responds that he did create annihilating devices, thinking they'd be useful for reality shows, and starts talking about how he "escaped from reality" while watching Inanimate Insanity. He wants the season to end and have a winner while still having his reputation be clean. Suitcase says MePhone4 is the owner of the show, and not Cobs, who asks them about how weird and unpredictable the show is. He then asks them about their auditioning interviews and proceeds to accept MePhone's call, where he lets the the contestants answer a question: How did they get to the interview? Suitcase and Knife do not know what to answer, and Cobs reveals that MePhone4 created his contestants for his sake. This causes Suitcase and Knife to get an existential crisis and start glitching.

Paintbrush, Fan and Test Tube all confront Marshmallow about why she left the show. Paintbrush tells her that she left without anyone telling her. Apple then tells them that in her defense, she told her. Marshmallow then talked about when she wanted to come back to Purgatory Mansion but Paintbrush never listened to her. But Paintbrush then says this was false because if they weren't listening, they'd remember, then lets out a laugh, making everyone stare at them angrily. Paintbrush then sees the issue about Marshmallow leaving. Marshmallow tells Paintbrush that they wanted to be the leader of the team but always had a fire to put out, but Paintbrush tells her that they maybe had one to start. Marshmallow tells them that it was the game for them, like it takes over their entire life. Paintbrush then realizes how much it affected Marshmallow and tells her they didn't know how she felt. She tells them that she didn't know either until she started talking with Bow and that leaving it all wasn't an option at all.

A flashback of MePhone appeared drawing the members of Spoiled Lemon while humming the tune of Springtastic, but throws the paper away. Paintbrush understands Marshmallow, knowing that it was like they couldn't break the rules and do whatever they wanted. Another cameo of MePhone appeared with him drawing Knife on another paper. Paintbrush further adds that there was like a way they were supposed to act, while MePhone puts Suitcase's paper next to Knife's. Marshmallow adds on that the show brings out the worst in the contestants. This is followed by Apple admitting she can be possessive, and Fan saying he doesn't know if he could stand to see how annoying he was. Marshmallow proceeds to talk about Knife, and the times that he would kill her, shock her, burn her, and threw her across the island for a joke. Bow adds on that the show cost her own life, but before she could talk about what she did to come back, she started screaming again. Fan restates how similar the shrieking sounded to The Baby Shimmer. He turns to Test Tube, noticing she was frightened by something. Test Tube points towards "a new MePhone" standing the hallway, shortly before dying.

Back at Meeple Headquarters following just where we left off, Steve Cobs asks Suitcase and Knife if they had any questions about what he had just told them. Knife angrily punches him and breaks his glasses, before being apprehended by 2 MeTags, Cobs brushes this off and asks if MePhone4 is still there, taunting Him a little asking if he'd be more comfortable talking to A.D.A.M. Suitcase is shown to be confused and freaking out a bit, stuttering and questioning the whole thing. She then angrily asks MePhone4 why he made her the way she was, with her struggled with hallucinations before having a bit of an existence crisis questioning if her mind, friends and life are even real. MePhone4 tries to explain himself until Tissues comes in the closet as MePhone4 covers Steve Cobs' name on his head. Tissues talks about "spam callers" never giving up, and Suitcase tells him that it must suck for him to always be sick since MePhone4 thinks it's funny, calling it a "big joke". Tissues is both shocked and confused by this. Then, yet another cameo of MePhone4 drawing Tissues on a paper, with the words "ALWAYS SICK" at the bottom. MePhone4 says that it was just a "cute idea". But Suitcase tells him that this is something he can't fix, while Knife also calls him out, saying that they could have been anything, but MePhone just had to make them broken. Suddenly, the call ended. As MePhone4 was about to talk to Tissues, he gets deleted by MePhoneX.

While in shock, Knife questions how they did not realize the truth sooner. Steve Cobs reveals that Mephone4 is capable of freezing the season 2 contestants in time, explaining how Inanimate Insanity: Invitational occurred. Steve Cobs turns to face Knife and Suitcase when questioned about how he would like to end the show with Steve Cobs wanting a fight to the death

Knife and Suitcase then get thrown in a room, with the only remaining contestants now being Paintbrush, Marshmallow, Apple. Paper, Microphone and Taco.

Knife and Suitcase then realize that there is no possible way out of the current situation and begin the challenge.

The fight to the death then begins with after a couple of punches but then the two realize what Steve Cobs actual plan is which is to capture the Shimmers. Toilet then shows up, unplugging Me a device that powers MeLife. The ship then vanishes with Knife and Suitcase plumeting down, mstarting to glitch and is then deleted.

Steve Cobs then survives the landing due to MePhoneX, He then finds MePhone4, sitting at the now missing Hotel OJ. He walks up to MePhone says "Come on, Shows Over." and "We're going home." He then holds his hand out and MePhone4 grabs it.

MePhone4 is then seen having a flashback sequence of different scenes throughout Inanimate Insanity, ending with the contestants allowing him to fall off a cliff (specifically the Crappy Cliff). MePhone4 then snaps back to reality and finds himself looking off the cliff, but Steve Cobs drags ushers him away, the two of them presumably heading to Meeple. Cobs has a conversation with MePhone4 about how they're going to reboot the show and make it "more professional, immediately". He warns him to go through with what's he's about to do next, or they'll have a BIG problem.

It then cuts to the inside of MeAfterlife, where we see OJ wake up in front of the hotel, surrounded by inanimate objects generated by MeLife. Paper bumps into Knife, who decides to find a way to escape. Springy suddenly appears in front them, panicking and glitches out of existence, making Knife go a different way. Outside, the Shimmers come and Cobs wants MePhone4 to prove his allegiance. Back inside MeAfterlife, we then get to see Suitcase meet Box with all of her limbs, who has presumably been there since the auditions. Box doesn't know any of the people on the show due to her being dead for the entirety of it running. We cut back to the outer world with MePhone4 and Steve Cobs. The shimmers emerge out of their ship and Steve tricks them. Just then however, MePhone4 warns them of Steve Cobs tricking them and tells them to run, and Cobs gets a Meeple Knife© and stabs the Prime Shimmer. They run away and Cobs gets furious at MePhone4 with a speech over the fact that he disobeyed him one last time when he told MePhone4 not to say anything. Cobs then decides that he now wants to kill MePhone4 and tries to with the Meeple Knife©, cracking the latter's screen in the process.

We cut to MeAfterlife once again, where Knife is still trying to find an exit. After he lashes out on Starfruit, who is looking for Guava, for not understanding that he and his band is fake, Knife finds MePhone4S in MeAfterlife. Eventually everybody is re-generated together in MePhone4, and plan to take the Shimmer Egg out of MePhone4. They call him to "make sure he approves". Cutting to the real world, Cobs tries to kill 4 again, but MePad is killed instead. The contestants find out they can get out of him by doing a race where if you touch the red beam you (presumably) turn into a ghost. Knife saves Marshmallow from the red beam, and Knife turns into a ghost while everybody else appears back in the real world. Suitcase blows up Cobs with a fake egg, making Suitcase win Inanimate Insanity 2 right after the Shimmers take back their lost egg.

Time passes off-screen, and we cut to the middle of a ceremony, where they all mourn MePad with a song. Afterwards, Suitcase sits with Knife on the roof of the newly renamed MePad Mansion, where she reads a poem written by Balloon to him. Afterwards, they both get up to leave, with Suitcase entering the mansion, and the credits roll.
