ImagineMe is a generative artificial intelligence (AI) deep learning platform and service created and hosted by the Rotterdam, The Netherlands - based independent research company Xamves.

ImagineMe’s software creates images based on text descriptions using a text-to-image model. Along with other companies in the market, such as Midjourney, OpenAI's DALL-E, and Stable Diffusion, it uses generative adversarial network (GAN) technologies.

ImagineMe aims to democratize AI art, making it more accessible to a wider audience. The creators have invested significant efforts into developing a user-friendly platform that equips individuals with the necessary tools to unleash their creativity.

History

[edit]

The developer of the ImagineMe platform, Xamves, was founded in 2018 by students from the Technical University Delft’s Faculty of Computer science and Engineering. The ImagineMe platform was launched in October 2022 with model version v1.0. During the following year, the company worked on improving its algorithm, and in September 2023, the platform announced a new model version, v2.0.

In the new version, the algorithms for creating photorealistic images were improved, and two new graphic editors, "Upscale" and "Canvas," were added to the platform. The "Upscale" editor uses the "Regenerative" option to upscale an image and add details up to 4x, creating higher-resolution images from a basic image of 896 x 640 pixels up to 3584 x 2560 pixels. "Canvas" is a composition tool that allows the creation of layers and the editing of different images on one canvas.

ImagineMe was established with the primary goal of bridging the gap between AI technology and artistic expression, recognizing that everyone should have the opportunity to express their creativity through art by leveraging the power of AI.

Features and Functionality

[edit]

ImagineMe introduces a novel AI system that enables users to generate remarkable art of themselves based on simple text descriptions (text-to-image technology). The platform empowers users to create personalized art, allowing them to visualize themselves in various scenarios limited only by their imagination. With ImagineMe, users can bring their imaginations to life and create art that reflects their unique visions. This revolutionary process makes it easier and more affordable than ever to create unique artwork through ImagineMe. The platform allows users to effortlessly produce art of themselves, enabling a seamless and magical artistic experience.

The platform's capability to generate personal art in a secure manner is achieved through the creation of private AI models for each user. The models are trained using NVIDIA GeForce 40 series GPUs. These models establish a connection between the user's name and their appearance, ensuring accurate representation. To initiate model creation, users need to upload 10-20 diverse, high-quality images of themselves. A deep learning model training process typically takes up to 24 hours, although it can be completed faster in certain instances.

Once the model training is complete, users can access it through the platform's prompt. The text-to-image sampling script within ImagineMe consumes a text prompt along with assorted option parameters covering sampling types. The script outputs an image file based on the model's interpretation of the prompt engineering.

By simply typing a text prompt, users can witness the generation of corresponding images on their screens. While the initial generation may take a few minutes, subsequent generations are significantly faster, with results appearing in just 10 seconds.
