The ICMAM Prize is a biannual award established in 2022 to recognize exceptional Latin American mathematicians for their significant contributions in pure and applied mathematics. It also honors those mathematicians who have played a pivotal role in promoting the international visibility and impact of Latin American mathematical research. Background
The ICMAM Prize is awarded by the ICMAM Latin America research organization, an organization founded in 2020 at Universidad del Valle in Colombia. The prize acknowledges mathematicians who have made groundbreaking advancements in their respective fields and who actively contribute to strengthening the Latin American mathematical community on a global stage. Nomination Process.
Candidates for the ICMAM Prize may be nominated by members of the ICMAM organizing committee, particularly those actively involved in the Latin American mathematical community. Additionally, mathematicians who meet the criteria may self-nominate. The selection process considers the originality and significance of the candidates’ mathematical work, as well as their efforts to increase the representation and visibility of Latin American mathematics internationally. Award Ceremony.
The prize is awarded at the ICMAM Latin America Conference, where recipients are invited to present their work and engage with the community. The award ceremony serves as a platform to inspire new generations of Latin American mathematicians and to foster collaborations across different regions and mathematical disciplines.
