Hussein Flamers Tahir
Dr. Hussain Flamers Tahir (born 1959, Baghdad, Iraq) is an Iraqi engineer, economist, former footballer, and advisor to the Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani. He is known for his contributions to engineering, economic development, sports administration, and youth empowerment.
Career
Engineering and Economic Contributions Dr. Hussein began his career as a mechanical engineer, working on industrial projects aimed at improving Iraq’s infrastructure. Later, he transitioned into economics and project management, focusing on youth empowerment and entrepreneurship initiatives. He served as the director of the International Trade Development Programs Institution in Erbil, where he developed training programs tailored to Iraq’s economic and cultural needs.
Riyada Initiative In 2023, Dr. Hussein played a prominent role in the launch of the "Riyada" initiative, a government program designed to empower young Iraqis through entrepreneurship. The initiative provides mentorship, training, and financial support to help participants create sustainable business ventures.
International Engagement Dr. Hussain represented Iraq at the International Entrepreneurship Conference in Melbourne, Australia, in 2023, where he shared insights on fostering entrepreneurship among Iraqi youth.
