The Hudson Valley Crusaders is a women's soccer program representing the Hudson Valley, and based in Newburgh, NY. Established in 2021, the team began competition the United Women's Soccer (UWS) league, which is the second-tier women's soccer league in the United States. After two conference championships at the League Two level and a playoff berth for the first team, the Crusaders relocated to the USL-W League beginning in 2025. The Crusaders are committed to developing high-level female athletes while promoting the sport within the Hudson Valley area and beyond.

History

The Hudson Valley Crusaders Women's Soccer Team was founded in 2021, to provide opportunities for women to compete at a high level of soccer in the region. The team was created to help foster the growth of soccer for women, as well as to offer competitive opportunities for players from the local community and beyond. Since its inception, the Crusaders have been a staple of the UWS, regularly contending for league titles and consistently developing players who go on to play at the collegiate and professional levels.

Stadium and Facilities

The team plays its home matches at Kaplan Field, located on the campus of Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, NY. The facility is known for its scenic location near the Hudson River, making it a prime destination for fans to enjoy an exciting soccer match.

League and Competition

The Hudson Valley Crusaders compete in the USL-W League, which was re-established in 2022 as the second-tier women's soccer league in the United States. The league's goal is to provide competitive opportunities for top women’s soccer players who aspire to play at the professional level, while also promoting the growth of the sport. The Crusaders formerly competed in the United Women's Soccer League One and League Two.

UWS Achievements

Since joining UWS, the Crusaders have established themselves as one of the league's more competitive teams. The UWS League Two team has two Northeast Conference Championships in 2023 and 2024 respectively. The UWS League One team has one playoff berth in their first season of competition.

The Hudson Valley Crusaders is known for attracting talent from a wide range of backgrounds, including local players from the Hudson Valley area, as well as athletes from across the United States, who are hosted by the club.
