Heaven Comes Down is the twelfth studio album by the American heavy metal band Dokken. It was released on 27 October 2023.[1] It is Dokken's first studio album since the release of Broken Bones 11 years prior.

The title of the album comes of their song "When Heaven Comes Down" of their 1984 album Tooth and Nail.

"Fugitive" was released as the first single of the album on August 8, 2023. The second single "Gypsy" was released on September 19, and the final single "Over The Mountain" was released on October 25.

Due to various health issues, as well as complications from a surgery leaving Don Dokken's hand paralyzed, the album is intended to be Dokken's last studio album.[2] Much of the album's lyrics involve reflecting on Dokken's past, and his new life in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Background and Production[edit]

Most of the songs on this record are stories. It’s definitely more personal because this is our last record. I really don’t think we’re going to make any more records. It’s not my choice. I had surgery and my right arm was paralyzed. I can’t play guitar, can’t play piano. I’m kinda screwed. When you’re inspired, you’re inspired. I can’t now just pick up my guitar and play. I gave everything I had to this record. - Don Dokken, in an interview with Rock Confidential.[2]
