Grey Jamés is a Nigerian Alternative Afrobeats Visionary Artist who's known for his introspective and spiritually charged lyrics.[1]

Biography

Ajor James Ukeatabuchi Artistically Known As "Grey Jamés" was born in Lagos Nigeria on the 29th of December 1999. He is the second child and son in a family of four children. He grew up in a Christian home where his dad was a pastor in a popular Pentecostal church in Nigeria.

His parents are originally from Bekwara, a minority tribe in Cross River State Nigeria but they came to Lagos in search for a better life.[2]

Career

Grey's music career started in highschool where he performed in social nights and rap competitions. Grey was super famous in school, he did his highschool education at the federal science and technical college yaba Lagos where he studied business studies. In highschool he did covers of Wizkids "daddy Yo" and Designers "Panda" which gave him a lot of fame then.

He then moved to the university of Calabar in 2016 where he started recording professionally and dropped his first single "Badder than Me" which was produced by Cyprus based afrobeats producer "Ovie The Creator"

Now Grey Jamés has grown and found music more spiritual than how he started. He fuses Neo Soul with Afrobeats elements to create an aesthetic African vibe which explores introspective themes about life.
