Early Life And Education
[edit]Grant Chr. Andersen was born and raised in Sandefjord, Norway, to Tore J. Andersen, a marketing manager at a local bank, and Regnhild Andersen, a colour consultant for Jotun Paints who later became a teacher.[1] Grant's early years were characterized by his passion for sports, particularly competitive swimming, which he pursued from the age of 14, along with football and handball.[1] His interest in literature emerged early, leading him to write a thesis on phonetics in "The Lord of the Rings" and Knut Hamsun’s "Pan" at the age of 15.
At 19, Grant moved to Bergen to attend the Norwegian School of Economics, where he continued his swimming career while advancing his academic pursuits.[2] Bergen has since become his second home.
Career
[edit]Grant Chr. Andersen is the founder of two distinct companies:
JumpMediaGroup AS and JMG Stories AS.
JumpMediaGroup AS, established in 2000, offers a comprehensive range of online solutions, including IT services, graphic design, and marketing. The company has served prestigious clients such as Manchester United, Oslo Gardermoen Airport, the Daily Telegraph, and Norsk Tipping.[3] Since 2005, JumpMediaGroup AS has expanded its focus to the sports sector, delivering detailed data and insights on major football leagues worldwide in collaboration with Opta Sports. Additionally, the company provides tactical advice to football managers.[4] covering challenges, set-piece strategies, and other aspects of game management.
JMG Stories AS, under Andersen's leadership, focuses on the development of creative content, producing over 40 TV shows and seven feature films. seven feature films, with many of these currently being taken to market in Scandinavia, the UK, Italy and the US.[5][6]
In addition to leading these companies, Andersen is set to begin a new role as a Business Developer/Project Manager at Kunnskapsparken Helgeland. He will be starting this position on 7 October 2024, where he will focus on project management and business development initiatives.
During his time at Publicom Forlag, the company became the first Norwegian publisher to systematically use television advertising for book promotions. Additionally, Publicom Forlag pioneered book sales through SMS, an innovative approach to direct consumer marketing in the Norwegian publishing industry.[2]
With 30 years of experience, Grant has successfully led cross-functional teams in agile projects across multiple industries. His expertise includes implementing ERP systems, developing innovative media projects, designing complex marketing campaigns, and producing TV and film projects.
