- Comment: Also, the article's focus on Steam players, player responses and reviews is not generally reliable or worthy of mention, and the price, character list and list of endings enters unncessary detail. You might like to check out the video games manual of style and other articles in the video games WikiProject to see the usual structure of these kind of articles. Apologies! - Comment: The game isn't notable in its current state because the article does not evidence significant coverage in reliable sources. The usual way we establish this is by seeing if there have been reviews of the game from major mainstream critics. Check out WP:VG/S for what sort of sources we mean. - Comment: You may wish to brush up on the general notability guideline, its definition of significant coverage and what reliable sources are, especially as they relate to video games before resubmission. VRXCES (talk) 06:10, 29 November 2024 (UTC)

Price[1][2] | Free, or $4.99 |
Granny is a horror escape room videogame made by Dennis Vukanovic, commonly known as DVloper, that is available on the App Store, the Play Store, and Steam.[1][3][4] It includes blood and violence, but the art style does not depict them realistically.[1][5][6] The game is canonically related to some of DVloper’s other games, notably those in his Slendrina franchise.[5] The app does not have a privacy policy.[6]
Gameplay
[edit]Since the game Granny is an escape room, the player needs to get several items to escape, including but not limited to a master key, a screwdriver, and cutting pliers.[3] As the player is trying to solve the puzzles to his escape, the game’s main antagonist, named Granny, is trying to hunt the player down and if caught, the player is beaten up by Granny with a wooden bat.[6] There is no way to save the game, so the playes has to either escape (win), die (lose), or exit the game.[7] The game is already hard, but it can be made easier or even harder.[6][7]
While playing the game, the player has five ‘days’ to beat the game. The game starts on day one, and each time Granny catches the player, the day count goes up by one (day one becomes day two, two becomes three, etc.). If the player is caught on the fifth day, the player fails, and therefore dies.[1] The game is already hard, but it can be made easier or even harder.[6] If the player assemles a painting in the basement, Granny rewards the player with an extra day. The player always initially spawns in one of the bedrooms.[5]
Characters
[edit]Below are the characters that are in the game:[4][5]
- The player, the main protagonist and escapee
- Granny, the main antagonist that trapped the player and any of her other victims in the house
- Spider, Granny’s pet spider
- Raven, Granny’s pet raven
- Spider mother, a spider-like being with six legs attached to the head of Slendrina’s mother[Note 1]
- Previous victim, one of Granny’s previous victims that the player never encounters, but sees evidence of[Note 2][Note 3]
- Slendrina, Granny’s granddaughter that makes a very minor appearance as a temporary ghost-like apparition
- Slendrina’s mother, Granny’s daughter that was chained up inside of one of Granny’s walls[Note 1]
Endings
[edit]Below are the endings the player can achieve after beating the game:[5][8]
- Front door escape: the player escapes Granny by removing all of the obstructions on the front door and running away.
- Car escape: the player escapes Granny by fixing her car and driving away.
- Sewer escape: the player escapes Granny by opening and crawling through her sewer.
Below are the endings the player can achieve after failing to beat the game:[8]
- Execution death: the player is executed by Granny via guillotine after using up all five days given by Granny.
- Car death: the player is killed by Granny using her car after being attacked near the car.
- Falling death: if the player is caught by Granny in the attic, Granny throws the player through the weaker part of the floor and into his death.
- Cannibalism death: the player is eaten by Granny after using up all five days given by Granny.
Reception
[edit]The videogame Granny still has a small, but active player base.[5][9] The game sold approximately 115,000 units on Steam, and with a price of $4.99, the game made a gross profit of about $468,000. Most players ended up with a positive opinion on Granny after downloading it.[1][9]
Notes
[edit]- ^ a b Spider mother has the head of Slendrina’s mother, yet the actual mother of Slendrina in the game still has her own head.
- ^ There are repeated bloodstains in various locations around Granny’s house, carved text into furniture (eg: “Five Days” and “Leave this house”), and Granny’s bat already having blood before the player meets her for the first time.
- ^ A note, in cursive, that says “This is my fifth day in this house. She chases me wherever I go. I'm quite injured and my body hurts. The only thing I remember before I woke up in this house is that I was driving when my car suddenly broke down. I went out to see what the problem was when someone suddenly hit me in the back of the head. I have managed to open a pair of locks on the front door but that's all. Why does she do this? I hope no one will experience the same thing as I did. If I do not survive this and if someone finds this message, I have noticed that she sometimes hides things inside of fruits.”
