Grace Wethor (born September 24, 2001) is an American actress, director, best-selling author, & brain cancer legislation advocate. At 13 years old she was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor and relocated to Los Angeles for her career in the film industry. She has gained recognition for her work with companies such as Vogue, TED, the White House, & the United Nations. In November 2024, Wethor was awarded a United Nations Global Impact Award.
Early Life
[edit]Grace Wethor grew up in Minneapolis, Minneasota[1] and was born on September 24th, 2001. At 13 years old she was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor.[1] She would soon relocate to Los Angeles for her career in the film industry. [2]
Career
[edit]2016-2018: Entering entertainment
[edit]In 2016, at age 14, Wethor debuted as a model at New York Fashion Week, opening the show. [3] She also became a Teen Vogue It Girl [1] and started collaborating with the company. In 2017 she gave her first TEDx Talk.[4] In 2018, she released her first bestselling book You’re So Lucky - detailing the stories of brain cancer patients. [1]
2019-2020: Beginning advocacy
[edit]In 2019, Wethor first started working with the United Nations, advocating for Sustainable Development Goal #3 “Good Health & Well-Being”.[5] She was also featured in Forbes [1] for her work. In 2020 she began advocating on Capitol Hill for healthcare legislation. [6]
2021-2022: Launching film work
[edit]After Wethor founded GRAE Entertainment in 2020, the company released a docu-series based on Wethor’s first book, a 1960s historical drama film I Always Said After starring Wethor with Lisette Olivera, and a advocacy documentary following three bereaved mothers.
2023-2024: Viral book fame
[edit]In 2023 Wethor released her second book, Seven Tompson & the Art of Remembering. [7] The book went viral on TikTok with over 10 million views and reached multiple bestseller lists around the world. [8] The audiobook version[9] hit #1 New Release in Romantic Suspense on Amazon. [8]
In the spring of 2024 at Yale University, Wethor gave her second TEDx Talk.[2] In November 2024, she was honored with a United Nations Global Impact Award.[8]
