George C. Benham was a newspaper publisher and politician in Carroll Parish, Louisiana. He was from Ohio.[1]
He served as postmaster of Lake Providence, Louisiana in 1868. He received the most votes in 1878 to become a delegate of East Carroll Parish at the Constitutional Convention but his eligibility was disputed.[2]
W. W. Benham was his brother.
Benham was accused of arranging for forged ballots to win over J. A. Gla (Jacques Gla). Extensive investigation and discussion of the election followed.[3]
