George Augustus Aguilar is an Americna stuntman, second unit director, and actor most known for his collaborators with directors Martin Scorsese and Donald Petrie.
Life & Career
[edit]Aguilar started his career in stunts with 1989's Adventures in Babysitting before eventually starting his second unit directing career with the 2006 Ivan Reitman film My Super Ex-Girfriend.
Aguilar is a frequent collaborator of Martin Scorsese, first working with him on 1999's Bringing Out the Dead and then 2002's Gangs of New York before serving as stunt coordinator and second unit director on his 2006 film The Departed.[1] He and Scorsese later worked together on Shutter Island, Silence, The Irishman, and Killers of the Flower Moon.[2][3]
In 2011, he served as second unit director for Brett Ratner on Tower Heist.[4] In 2012 and 2014, he directed second unit on Phil Lord and Christopher Miller's Jump Street duology.[5]
Other films Aguilar has directed second unit on include Now You See Me, Ghostbusters, The Smurfs, The Smurfs 2, Deliver Us From Evil, Motherless Brooklyn, Zombieland, School for Scoundrels, Enchanted, Goosebumps,Noah, and All the King's Men.[6]
