Gabriel Stilp (born 19 August 2007) is a British racing driver from Northampton.[1] He most recently competed in the 2024 Formula 4 UAE Championship driving for Hitech Pulse-Eight, and the 2023 F4 British Championship with the same team.[2][3]

Career

[edit]

Karting

[edit]

Stilp had an incredibly impressive karting career, quickly gaining a reputation for winning races.[4] Stilp won three major karting titles, as he won the IAME Warriors final two years in a row from 2021 to 2022 in the X30 Junior category, and he also won the British Kart Championship in 2022 in the same category.[5] In his first season in Senior X30 karting, at the IAME International Games Stilp blew away the competition by finishing second as a fifteen year-old against vastly more experienced drivers.[6]

Formula 4

[edit]

2023

[edit]

On 17 April 2023, Hitech announced that they would be completing their 2023 F4 British Championship driver lineup by signing up Stilp.[3] He had a solid rookie season, managing to finish 9th in the championship, with one race victory at Donington Park.[7] Stilp also finished in second place in the rookie standings behind Swede Gustav Jonsson.[8] Stilp also made a guest appearance in the 2023 F4 Spanish Championship, driving for GRS Team, with a best race result of 18th.[9]

2024

[edit]

In early January, Hitech confirmed that Stilp would be running in the 2024 Formula 4 UAE Championship with the team.[10] Stilp made his mark against some of the best young drivers in the world, and he managed to score one race victory at the Yas Marina Circuit in the rain as he finished 9th in the championship.[11][12] Stilp returned to karts for the remainder of the 2024 season.
