The Franklin Fire is an ongoing wildfire currently burning in Los Angeles County, California.[1] The fire began on December 10, and is 38% contained as of December 14.
Progression
[edit]The fire ignited north of Pepperdine University, on Malibu Canyon Road, at approximately 11 p.m. on December 9, 2024.[1] By approximately 11:50 p.m., the fire had grown to approximately 100 acres (40 ha) and was threatening structures in Malibu. At around 1:00 a.m., the fire had grown to 314 acres and was running towards Pepperdine University. By December 11, it had burned more than 4,000 acres.[1]
Effects
[edit]The Franklin Fire has destroyed at least nine structures and damaged seven others.[1]
