Football Queensland Far North & Gulf[1] is a Football Queensland licensed zone which operates soccer competitions within the cities and shires of Cairns, Innisfail, Mareeba, and Port Douglas.
Football Queensland Far North & Gulf
[edit]Football Queensland Far North & Gulf is responsible for running the Far North Queensland Premier League, and all other Junior and Senior competitions in the area. They are also responsible for all refereeing, coaching, and playing programs in the region. Most clubs offer both male and female football.

The current champions of the Far North Queensland Premier League (2024) is Marlin Coast Rangers.[6]
Other clubs from the region that do not participate in the Far North Queensland Premier League include, Douglas United Football Club, Atherton Football Club, Kuranda Rangers Football Club, Dimbulah Football Club, and Malanda Football Club.
The Far North & Gulf region used to be home of former NPL Queensland side, Cairns FC, which dissolved in 2018.
The only teams based in the Far North & Gulf to reach the Round of 32 in the Australia Cup are, Edge Hill United[7], which reached this stage in 2021, losing to the Gold Coast Knights 2-0[8], at Barlow Park. The only other team based in Cairns to reach the Round of 32 and Round of 16 is the now dissolved, Cairns FC[9].

Finals Series Qualification
- The top four teams at the end of the season will enter the finals series. The 1st place side will take on the 2nd place side, with the loser playing against the winner of the 3rd place and 4th place semi-final. The winner of this preliminary final will then get their spot in the grand final.

- Mareeba United have been given an awarded win, which will be scored as 3-0 against Leichhardt Lions. The game originally ended as a 2-1 win to Leichhardt Lions, but after an investigation it was revealed that Leichhardt Lions had fielded two ineligible players for the 2024 season resulting in the win being awarded to Mareeba United.[14]
