Flynn Thomas (born 9 July 2008) is a Swiss tennis player.[1]
Early and personal life
[edit]He is from Zurich,[2] but previously lived in Kriens where he started playing tennis aged five years-old. He has a diagnosis that places him on the autistic spectrum. He was expelled from his elementary school and was schooled at the Lip Academy in Zurich. His mother Sandra Thomas accompanies him at matches. He was known as Flynn Richter prior to his parents divorce. He has two sisters, Léonie and Hannah.[3][4][5]
Career
[edit]In 2022, he became Swiss U14 singles champion, his sixth national age-group title.[6]
He reached the quarter finals of the boys' singles at the 2024 US Open where he was defeated by British player Charlie Robertson.[7] In the boys' doubles at the event, he reached the final alongside Denis Peták, where they lost to Maxim Mrva of the Czech Republic and Rei Sakamoto of Japan.[8][9][10]
