fi-compass[1][2][3] is an advisory service platform developed by the European Commission and the European Investment Bank Group (EIB Group).[4][5] It supports EU shared management funds' managing authorities and other stakeholders by providing practical know-how and learning tools on financial instruments across the European Union.[6]

Hosted within the EIB, fi-compass serves as a one-stop-shop for information, guidance, and technical assistance related to financial instruments under EU shared management.[11] Its primary objectives include:

  • Promotion of Financial Instruments: Raising awareness and promoting the use of financial instruments to enhance the impact of public resources.[12]
  • Capacity Building: Providing training sessions, seminars, workshops, and online resources to build the capacity of managing authorities and other stakeholders.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Facilitating the exchange of best practices and experiences among EU Member States and stakeholders.[13]
  • Technical Assistance: Offering expert advice and support to help design, implement, and evaluate financial instruments in line with EU regulations and best practices.
