Early Life and Education

Fahad Akhtar was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and raised in central New Jersey. He is the son of an elementary school teacher and small business owner. Fahad's childhood was centered around martial arts, sports, and getting in trouble. He attended Rutgers University's New Brunswick campus, where he excelled academically and became involved in various student activities.

Career

Fahad Akhtar has experience in national security, financial services, government, and investment consulting. After graduating from college, he joined BlackRock, where he worked in client businesses, portfolio construction, and product development. He rose to become the firm's youngest group manager before leaving to pursue an MBA at Dartmouth's Tuck School of Business.

While at Dartmouth, Fahad served as a career advisor and began managing his own private equity and venture investment firm. He later worked as a national security innovation fellow at the U.S. Department of Defense, where he spearheaded a China-related battlefield hardware initiative.[1]

Fahad then became a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where he defended the nation's critical infrastructure against intelligence and espionage threats from the People's Republic of China.

Personal Life

Fahad is a practicing Muslim and father of two. He is an avid outdoorsman and has visited nearly every National Park in the country with his wife. He is also a skilled martial artist and athlete, able to shoot a perfect bullseye, run a sub-6 minute mile, and benchpress and squat more than all of the other candidates combined.
