Comment: "Among some of the better-known authors", stated by which source? The referencing seems to be lacking, as 2 of the 4 sources here talk about one particular author being a fraud, when the referencing should primarily be about the journal of Ethnologia Europaea, and its significant coverage by reliable sources. Ethnologia Europaea - Journal of European Ethnology – is an international peer-reviewed journal for European ethnology, which was founded in 1966 by the Swedish folklorist Sigurd Erixon together with colleagues from Yugoslavia, Portugal and France.^[1] The main objective was to counteract the linguistic isolation of individual national sciences.

Since then, two issues have been published per year – open and themed issues. Initially, the journal dealt with questions of the traditional canon; from the 1980s onwards, it increasingly devoted itself to theoretical and methodological problems. The editors-in-chief have included professors: Bjarne Stoklund; Orvar Löfgren and Regina Bendix; Marie Sandberg and Monique Scheer. The current editors are Alexandra Schwell and Patrick Laviolette.

Since the beginning of 2015, Ethnologia Europaea has also been the official journal of SIEF: members of the International Society for Ethnology and Folklore receive the journal as part of their membership.

The journal was published by the Museum Tusculanums Forlag of the University of Copenhagen until 2018. From 2019 to 2024, it will be published on the platform of the Open Library of Humanities, an open-access publisher. Since 2024, the journal has been published by Berghahn in their Open Anthro series.^[2]

Among some of the better-known authors of Ethnologia Europaea have been Orvar Löfgren, Regina Bendix, Mart Bax (unmasked as a fraud in 2013)^[3] ^[4], Leopold Kretzenbacher and Ingeborg Weber-Kellermann, and Marilyn Strathern.
