And he also built a company called the Hovde Foundation with his brother Steve. And it's purpose is to provide shelter to homeless children in Wisconsin.[3]
During 2012 Hovde attempted to run for the 2012 Wisconsin Senate election, but ultimately failed.[4]

He also says on his campaign website that the Russian invasion of Ukraine has stretched on for too long, and costed hundreds of billions dollars. He also says that Iran is financing terrorism and says that Iran funded the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7th. He also supports legal immigration because he feels like that legal immigrants are good people that want to work in the farms, work in factories, and also work on the health care system.[8]
