Eric Bauer (born July 23, 1973) is a White-American healthcare professional known for his contributions to emergency medical services (EMS) and critical care education.[1][2]

Early life and Education

Eric Bauer was born in Ashland, Oregon, to Robert W. Bauer and Christine M. Unis. He grew up in Central Point, Oregon, with his younger brother Ryan W. Bauer. Bauer has obtained various certifications and specialized courses in EMS and critical care.

Career

Bauer has held multiple roles in his career. He’s been a firefighter, paramedic, and a flight paramedic. With a 32-year career in EMS, Bauer has gained expertise in the Helicopter EMS (HEMS) sector, where he has spent the past 20 years.[3][4][5]

In 2012, Eric Bauer co-founded FlightBridgeED with Ashley Bauer and Evan Claunch. [6]The organization provides continuing education for prehospital and critical care providers. FlightBridgeED also offers online courses, board certification review classes, and study guides to help professionals prepare for certifications such as FP-C (Flight Paramedic Certification), CCP-C (Critical Care Paramedic Certification), and CFRN (Certified Flight Registered Nurse). [7]Bauer has created a range of educational materials for FlightBridgeED to support both new and experienced EMS providers in their professional development.


Podcast

Bauer also hosts the FlightBridgeED Podcast, which addresses various topics in critical care and emergency medicine.[8][9][10]The podcast includes interviews, case studies, educational segments, and discussions on recent advancements in the field. With a global audience of 80,000 monthly subscribers and over 5.5 million downloads to date, the podcast has provided accessible and practical education for EMS professionals for free.

Bauer is an active speaker at EMS and critical care conferences globally. He has authored and co-authored several widely used books, educational journal articles, and materials, including:
