Emily D. Baker
Emily D. Baker is an American legal commentator, podcast host, and former deputy district attorney.[1] She is best known for her YouTube channel and podcast,[2] "The Emily Show,"[3] where she provides legal analysis and commentary on high-profile cases and pop culture events.[4][5] She is a former Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney, [6] from 2004 until 2020.
Early Life and education
[edit]Baker grew up in Manhattan Beach, California.[4] She earned her law degree from Southwestern Law School[7] before embarking on a career as a Deputy District Attorney. After passing the California bar in 2005,[7] she began practicing law in Los Angeles.

Transition to legal commentary
[edit]After leaving her position as a deputy district attorney in 2020, Baker quickly gained recognition as a legal YouTube commentator.[8] She became particularly well-known during her coverage of the Johnny Depp v. Amber Heard trial.[9][10][11] Her live streams of the trial attracted over 100,000 concurrent viewers, making her channel one of the top sources for trial coverage on YouTube.[citation needed]
