Ellen Snortland is a writer, content creator, writing coach, activist and advocate for women’s self-defense.
Early Life
[edit]Ellen Snortland was born August 27, 1953 in Denver, Colorado and raised in South Dakota. She graduated at age 16 from Augustana Academy in Canton, South Dakota, just as the women’s movement was taking shape.
Career and Higher Education
[edit]Ellen moved to California to become a member of the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts in Santa Maria. She co-founded an all-woman theater company in Los Angeles, Theater of Process, featured in an early issue of Ms. Magazine. [1] Ellen received her BA Cum Laude in theater and film from UC Irvine. Ellen graduated law school at Loyola, Los Angeles and passed the California Bar.
Ellen became a working actor doing voiceovers and commercials. She appeared in "The Fall Guy", "Divorce Court" and Paramount’s TV's “Anything for Money.”[2]
Ellen's output as a content creator spans 3 decades.
