Elle O'Flaherty (born December, 13, 1979) is an American speaker, writer, and coach. Her talks and coaching focus on productivity and performance optimization, particularly for professionals with ADHD.[1] O'Flaherty is known for using humor and teaching practical tools during her presentation.[2] She is the founder and CEO of Interlace Solutions,[3] a coaching firm that specializes in executive, ADHD, and career coaching. O'Flaherty has been interviewed by media outlets for her expertise in career development[4],[5] and ADHD.
In addition to working with organizations and individuals, O'Flaherty is an advocate for the ADHD community.[6] She created the Certified ADHD Career Strategist certification[7] to train career development professionals to work with ADHD clients and students. In interviews, she talks about the strengths ADHD brings to the workplace.[8],[9],[10] She also serves as the National Career Development Association's Co-Chair for Government Relations[11] and advocates for access to career development services.
Early life and education
[edit]Elle O'Flaherty was born in Fairfax, Virginia, on December 13, 1979. She was raised in the Washington, DC-metropolitan area in Annandale, Virginia.
O'Flaherty received a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from James Madison University in 2001, and a Juris Doctor from the William & Mary Law School in 2004. She served as the Editor-in-Chief of the William & Mary Environmental Law and Policy Review from 2003-2004.[12],[13],[14]

[edit]O'Flaherty gives trainings on productivity, leadership, workplace satisfaction, and performance. Her research and writing focus on leadership, productivity, career,[15] ADHD,[16] women in the workplace, and mental health.[17],[18] She often looks at these topics through mental health and DEI lenses.
O'Flaherty is known for mixing humor, research- and science-based information, and practical tools during her presentations. She mixes audience participation and media including original videos into her talks.[19] Some of her speaking topics include "Go Before You’re Ready: Empowering Women to Advance Their Careers,"[20] "Navigating Life's Transitions: Embracing Personal & Professional Change," "Networking at this Conference: Advance Your Career Today (Literally),"[21] and "Guiding Change: Motivational Interviewing Basics and Beyond."

Early career
[edit]Elle O'Flaherty started her professional career as a federal appellate attorney for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. She moved to the Office of the General Counsel for the U.S. Department of Agriculture providing legal advise to the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) and the Farm Service Agency (FSA). O'Flaherty then worked for FAS where she was the lead and a subject matter expert[22] on World Trade Organization dispute settlement.[23], [24] She worked on several agricultural disputes including the Country of Origin Labeling[25] (COOL) dispute (DS384) and the India-Agricultural Products[26] dispute (DS430). O'Flaherty was a member of the Section 301 Committee for the Large Civil Aircraft WTO disputes.[27],[28] She also served as the Department's Washington-based lead[29],[30],[31] for the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations (UN).[32], [33]
