El Merriekh FC Bentiu is a South Sudanese federation football club based in Unity State, Bentiu, South Sudan. It plays its home matches at Juba Stadium as a part of 2024-2025 newly formed South Sudan League. The word Merreikh means "Mars" in the Arabic language. They share a fierce rivalry with Bentiu City SC which is known locally as the Bentiu Derby.
History
[edit]El Merriekh Sporting Club, established on July 10, 2002, has quickly become a cornerstone of the football community in South Sudan. Proudly affiliated with the South Sudan Football Association, the club dons its vibrant red and yellow colors, symbolizing energy, passion, and the fighting spirit of its members.
Located in Bentiu, Unity State, the club participates in the South Sudan Football Championship. It is one of the successful teams of South Sudan as well as being the only team to win a home match during the CAF Champions League match against Gor Mahia F.C. on 18 August 2024.
