E´olén was a Gambian-Norwegian musical group founded in 1975, by percussionist, singer, dancer Miki N´Doye from Banjul,The Gambia, and Helge Zakhir Linnae from South Africa and Norway. The group quickly established itself at the famous Club 7 in Oslo, and became a popular energy boost into the world/jazz scene in Norway. The lineup further consisted of drummer Finn Sletten, bassist Sveinung Hovensjø, pianist Jon Balke, saxophonist Erik Balke, and trumpeter Pablo Guanio, with various guest appearances by other musicians from the club scene in Oslo. Their performances were done in costumes and face paint, presenting a kind of multicultural tribal society. Throughout their existence, the group also performed in Sweden and Denmark. E´olén released one album , titled "E´olén" on Mai records, and various TV productions for Norwegian Public Television (NRK) Live Tv from Club 7. The group members later spread out in various spin-off projects, like "Sabba" (N´Doye, Linnae and Demba Jobarteh) and "Tamma" (Erik Balke, Finn Sletten, Miki N´Doye and Per Jørgensen)
