Dr. Gemedo Dalle is an Associate Professor of Vegetation Ecology and Biodiversity Management at Center for Environmental Science, Addis Ababa University. He has rich and diverse experiences both at national and International levels: A. International Experiences 1. He worked for the Global Green Growth (GGGI) Institute in different capacities: (i) GGGI Ethiopia Country Representative; and (ii) Africa Regional Lead for Forestry and Nature-based Solutions, based in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire. 2. He served in the capacity of Chair of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA) of the Convention on Biological Diversity; 3. Chair for the 48 Least Developed and Climate Vulnerable Forum Countries under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. B. National Experiences 1. Minister for the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change of Ethiopia. 2. Member of Parliament of the Federal House of Peoples Representative of Ethiopia 3. Director General of the Ethiopian Biodiversity Institute. 4. Director of the Genetic Resources Transfer and Regulation Directorate, Ethiopian Biodiversity Institute. 5. Head of the Forest Genetic Resources Conservation Department, Ethiopian Biodiversity Institute. 6. Board Chairman, Madda Walabu University. 7. Board Member, Ethiopian Adventist College.

Education:

1. PhD in Ecology from Georg-August University Göttingen, Germany; 2. MSc in Botanical Sciences from Addis Ababa University and 3. BSc in Biology, Addis Ababa University Publications: Dr Gemedo Dalle has published more than 50 research manuscripts in peer reviewed national and international scientific journals.
