History
[edit]Dr. Yanga's Colleges Inc. traces its roots to the 1950s, when the institution was founded as the Francisco Balagtas Academy (FBA) by the visionary couple, Mr. and Mrs. Gerardo Samson Sr. The academy was officially registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission in 1960, marking its formal establishment as an academic institution."History". In 1972, Dr. Ismael E. Yanga, Sr., and Mrs. Sofia D. Yanga assumed leadership of the Dr. Yanga’s School of Midwifery, earning Government Recognition and graduating its first batch of midwives by 1975. By 1974, the couple acquired FBA, renaming it to Dr. Yanga’s Francisco Balagtas Colleges (DYFBC) in 1987. Under their stewardship, the institution expanded its programs, gaining Government Recognition for secondary education in 1976 and introducing tertiary degree programs by 1977. The 1980s and 1990s were periods of significant growth. In 1989, DYFBC secured Government Recognition for its Nursing Degree Program. During the 1990s, the institution added majors to the College of Commerce and introduced degree programs in Marine Transportation and Marine Engineering in 1994. The passing of Dr. Ismael E. [edit]DYCI demonstrated resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic by launching the REIMAGINED Learning Program in 2020, ensuring uninterrupted education.
