Early life

[edit]

Dr. HEāRT (born Roy Heārt Recnati on August 18, 1976) began his journey of spiritual and physical discipline at the age of 13, following the loss of his father, when he was introduced to Koga Ryū ninjitsu. Through his martial arts training, he was exposed to Zen Buddhism, a philosophy and practice that would become central to his life. This introduction sparked a deep connection to the principles of mindfulness, balance, and meditation. [3]

Throughout his early life, his dedication to both martial arts and Zen shaped his worldview and instilled in him a profound understanding of the interconnectedness of life. His experiences with mortality, spirituality, and his own battle with an autoimmune disease further influenced his understanding of the human condition, blending the physical and metaphysical in his approach to life.
