Donore Parish is a Catholic parish located in County Meath, Ireland. It encompasses the village of Donore, a small community situated in the historic Boyne Valley, not far from the famous Brú na Bóinne heritage site and the town of Drogheda. The parish forms part of the Diocese of Meath [1] and is administratively linked with nearby parishes such as Duleek Parish [2].

[edit]The village of Donore lies approximately 4km west of Drogheda and about 18km from Navan, in a region rich with archaeological and historical significance. Donore is positioned along the road between Drogheda and Brú na Bóinne, which is renowned for the nearby Newgrange and Knowth passage tombs [3].
Historically known as Dun Uabair[4], meaning “The Fort of Pride,” the village’s name suggests that its foundation dates back to the early Christian period (400-1200 AD), likely indicating the presence of a ring fort in the vicinity[4].
