From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Domenico Giordano (death 2022) [1]> was an Italian musician and professor at "Conservatorio Giuseppe Martucci" of Salerno.[2]

Career

[edit]

Flute teacher at the "G.Martucci" Conservatory of Salerno, Giordano was considered catalyst of musical culture in the city of Salerno and flautist of the Rome opera and founder of the "G.Verdi" Salerno Philharmonic Orchestra.[3] Since 2020 he adhered to Empathism.[4][5]

One year after his passing, his "school" met in the Church of San Giorgio to pay homage to his memory. In that occasion the flautists Antonio Senatore, Mauro Navarra, Vincenzo Scannapieco, Simone Mingo and Pasquale Occhinegro performed as soloists with the “G.Verdi” Salerno Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Jacopo Sipari.[6]
