Digital Bridge Institute is a public service institution in Nigeria established in May 2004 by Nigerian Communications Commission to foster the advancement of ICT teaching and skills, capacity building, knowledge development.[1]
Background
[edit]The institute is wholly-owned by the Nigerian Communications Commission as a not-for-profit organization. It is responsible for professional training, academic education and research, technology studies geared towards providing universal access to digital skills to un-skilled and under-skilled people. Through campuses in Lagos, Kano State, Enugu, Adamawa State, Digital Bridge Institute offers ICT courses and programs,out of which it's innovation and entrepreneurship, cyber-security courses have been accredited by International Telecommunication Union.[2] It is also a member of the International Telecommunication Union centres of excellence network. Digital Bridge Institute trains more than 14,000 participants yearly across its campuses.[3] It introduced the Advanced Digital Appreciation for Tertiary Institutions, which aims to entrench ICT skills in the country's academic sector.[4]
