His murder is investigated by DCI Ellis (Sharon D Clarke) and DS Chet Harper (Andrew Gower).
In 2024, Scully transitioned into acting, marking his debut with a prominent role as Rowan Edwards in the Channel 5 crime drama Ellis[19]. The series, which premiered on October 31, 2024, follows Detective Chief Inspector Ellis (played by Sharon D. Clarke) as she solves complex cases in northern England. Scully's character, Rowan Edwards, is son of a local MP Louise Edwards (Catherine Walker) is central to the first episode, where his murder sets off a series of events investigated by Ellis and her team. The show, which is also available on Acorn TV in the US and Canada, has received attention for its compelling performances and intricate plotlines, being named as one of the best British TV shows of 2024 by the British Film Institute[20][21].
