Luke Campese (born April 11th, 2002), known professionally as DJ Deezl (occasionally stylized as Deezl) is an American DJ, radio personality, and record producer. Known for his unique blend of genres, DJ Deezl has made a name for himself in the music scene with high-energy performances and a distinctive sound. His work as a radio personality showcases his passion for music and connects him with fans. With a growing reputation, he continues to engage audiences and expand his influence in the industry.
Biography
[edit]Luke Campese was born on April 11, 2002, in Orlando, Florida to American parents. DJ Deezl has one younger sister. After graduating High School, DJ Deezl moved to South Florida, where he attended Florida Atlantic University and received a degree in Communication Studies. While Deezl was in University, he became the Station Manager at FAU Owl Radio[1] (WOWL) and began deejaying on-air, as well as performing at clubs throughout South Florida. Deezl has since moved back to Orlando to further pursue radio and deejaying as his career.
Career
[edit]2016-2020: Career beginnings
[edit]DJ Deezl began his career in 2016, originally making hip-hop music and beats under the name Deezl. He first made notoriety when a music video about eating black beans and rice made waves on Instagram, but this video has since been deleted from the Internet.
2020-present: Radio, Performances, and Accomplishments
[edit]After moving to South Florida in 2020, DJ Deezl became the Station Manager at FAU Owl Radio, Florida Atlantic University's radio station. DJ Deezl had an on-air show, called the DJ Deezl show that aired once a week on the station for two years. During his time at FAU, DJ Deezl started a podcast program for students at the University, which ultimately led him to winning the award of Media Leader of the Year.[2] During March of 2023, the Florida Atlantic Men's Basketball team competed in March Madness all the way up until the Final Four, where Deezl reported and broadcasted from Madison Square Garden, and Houston, Texas.
Deezl also started deejaying at nightclubs in South Florida during this time, and completed the year with a "South Florida Spring Break Tour" in March of 2024. Some notable places he deejayed on the tour include: The Delray Avenue, Downtown Fort Lauderdale,Boca Raton, and Miami.
DJ Deezl now works for a variety of radio stations under Cox Media Group in Orlando, Florida. Radio Stations under Cox Media Group in Orlando, Florida include: WDBO, K 92.3, WMMO, Star 94.5, and Éxitos 96.5.[3]
