History

[edit]

Creatio was founded by Katherine Kostereva in 2014[2], and its first product was the bpm'online CRM powered by a business process management (BPM) engine.

In November 2016, the analyst firm Forrester Research named bpm'online a leader in their Forrester Wave™: CRM Suites for Midsize Organizations report.[3]

In October 2019, the software was renamed from bpm'online to Creatio.[4]

In February 2021, Creatio raised $68 million in company's first-ever funding round led by Volition Capital with participation from Horizon Capital.[5]

In September 2022, Creatio released The No-code Playbook, a vendor-agnostic no-code methodology guide to deliver business applications with no-code.

In September 2023, Creatio launched a major release Creatio 8.1 Quantum.[6] This introduced a composable architecture and enhancements to its no-code tools to support building business applications out of components and blocks. With the Quantum release, Creatio added AI-assisted app development capabilities.

In October 2024, Creatio announced a major release Creatio 8.2 Energy.[7] This introduced a new unified AI architecture for agentic, generative and predictive automation.

Creatio's customers include such companies as Colgate-Palmolive Company, AMD, Metlife, City of Boston, Howdens, Coca Cola Bottling, Societe Generale, OTP Bank, STC, Emeria, Digital Dubai, and many others.

Features

[edit]

Creatio provides technology that serves broader trends in the software industry, particularly the growing adoption of no-code platforms for citizen development.[8] It also delivers a composable architecture,[9] with a CRM application suite built on top of the Creatio no-code platform and a broad set of configurable CRM business components.

A no-code platform (Studio Creatio), Creatio allows creating user interfaces, workflows, business logic, data models, and integrations to connect to external systems via both visual tools and natural language inputs. These tools can be used to build custom stand-alone no-code applications, or to configure and extend its own suite of CRM applications.

Reception

[edit]

In 2023, Forrester Research named Creatio as the leader in "The Forrester Wave™: Low-Code Platforms For Citizen Developers, Q1 2024."[10] In 2024, Gartner also recognized Creatio in their "Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Low-Code Application Platforms, 2024".[11]

Gartner has recognized Creatio in numerous CRM reports including the recent Magic Quadrant for Sales Force Automation Platforms, 2024,[12] and the Magic Quadrant for B2B Marketing Automation Platforms, 2024,[13] in which Creatio has been consistently named a leader since 2020.
