"Cool About It" is a song by American supergroup Boygenius from their 2023 album The Record.

[edit]"Cool About It" debuted and peaked at number thirty-four on Billboard's Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart on the week ending April 15, 2023,[1] coinciding with The Record's entrance at number four on the Billboard 200. It started gaining airplay on adult album alternative radio stations in the United States several months later; it debuted at number thirty-six on Billboard's Adult Alternative Airplay chart on the week ending September 9[2] and proceeded to steadily climb. The song ultimately peaked at number two behind Brittany Howard's "What Now" on the week ending December 23, spending a total of twenty-two weeks on the chart.[3][4] On Billboard's Alternative Airplay chart, "Cool About It" debuted at number thirty-eight on the week ending December 30,[5] peaking at number thirty-four two weeks later and charting for a total of seven weeks.[6] On Billboard's overall Rock Airplay chart, which ranks song based on audience impressions across mainstream rock, alternative, and adult album alternative radio formats, the song entered at number fifty on the week ending October 28;[7] it remained on the chart for thirteen weeks, peaking at number thirty-three on the week ending December 9.[8]
Critical reception

Live performances
[edit]Boygenius first performed "Cool About It" at Carnegie Hall as part of a benefit concert for Tibet House US on March 1, 2023. The band's inclusion was arranged shortly before the concert; the only other song in their setlist was fellow The Record single "Not Strong Enough", which was also performed live for the first time.[11]
