Coastal Carolina University was established in 1954, in Conway, South Carolina. Coastal Carolina Surf Club was established in 2011, and re-established in 2015. The surf club is sponsored by Village Surf Shop, a local surf shop in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Students of all grades and age levels who attend CCU are welcome to join the club. The surf club does surf trips at least three times a semester, to places such as Outer Banks, Jacksonville, and even Carolina Beach.
