Charles Shavers public official in Florida

Charles A. Shavers was a state legislator in Florida. He lived in Key West.[1] He served on Key West's council from 1898 to 1901.[2]

Shavers Lane is in the Bahama Village neighborhood.

Peter Shavers was part of the group of 125 men from Key West in the Union Army who along with Harriet Tubman freed slaves in South Carolina (2nd South Carolina Volunteer Infantry Regiment) (Colored) of the (34th USCT) 2nd Regiment South Carolina Volunteer Infantry (African Descent) (34th USCI)[3]

Mildred Shavers served as principal of Douglass High School.

Catherine Shavers was Ernest Hemingway's housekeeper.<of/>

He was supported by the Knights of Labor.[4]
