Biography
[edit]Dimino was born on September 9, 1980 in West Point, Mississippi. He grew up a fan of wrestling, watching Memphis territory descriping the experience of watching Bill Dundee and Jerry Lawler as "the greatest thing I'd ever seen in my life as a kid."[4]
Dimino went to the University of Southern Mississippi after graduating high school, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film. Dimino then moved to Los Angeles, California, working in the film industry as an art assistant, production assistant, and writer. Additionally, he covering baseball, basketball, and football as a writer. He moved to Starkville, Mississippi, in 2015, taking over his family's storage unit business.[5]
In 2018 Dimino gained notoriety as "Charlie from Starkville" when he began writing in questions to Jim Cornette's podcast, Drive-Thru with Jim Cornette. Dimino maintained anonymity initially when engaging with Cornette's show, leading to speculation, including from Cornette, that Charlie from Starkville was a fictional character created by Cornette's co-host, Brian Last.[6][7]
Building on this notoriety, Dimino created a Facebook group in September 2022, initially to promote his first book, which has now developed an active following of over 3,200.[8] In advance of the release of his second book, in February 2024 Dimino began producing and posting digital content on a separate Facebook group,[9] and in March 2024 began cross posting it on YouTube[10] as well.
Dimino is currently working on his third book, which will be a follow up from his second book.[11]
