Chapman Manufacturing is an American manufacturer of hand-use precision screwdriver sets in Durham, CT where the company was established in 1936.

1936-1965

  • 1936 - The Chapman Manufacturing Company was established in John Chapman's garage in the small town of Durham, Connecticut. Chapman tools were sold in converted eyeglass cases
  • 1939-1945 - The U.S. Government marked Chapman[1] sets with a price ceiling to prevent price gouging during WWII [2]
  • 1953 - Six Chapman tool sets were purchased for use on the Nautilus submarine, the first nuclear powered submarine

  • 2012 - Tracy Camassar purchases the business, modernizes production, and brings Chapman into the digital age
  • 2013-2015 - Chapman is awarded the Green Circle Award from the CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection 3 years in a row [6] [7]
  • 2019 - Chapman collaborates with Supreme with a custom set[8]
