Cerritos on Wheels (COW) began its operations in 1993[1] as a response to the growing transportation needs within Cerritos, California. The service was initiated to provide convenient and reliable transit options for residents, students, and visitors traveling within the city and to nearby locations such as Cerritos Towne Center and Cerritos College.

The inception of Cerritos on Wheels was part of a broader initiative by the City of Cerritos to enhance local transportation infrastructure and improve accessibility for its community members. The city recognized the importance of public transit in reducing traffic congestion, promoting sustainability, and offering alternative transportation choices to its residents.

Initially, Cerritos on Wheels started with a limited route network, focusing primarily on connecting key destinations within Cerritos. Over time, the service expanded its coverage and integrated with neighboring transit systems

Schedules, Routes, and Fares[edit]

The Cerritos On Wheels transit system operates two routes. COW's service hours are from 9AM to 5PM Monday to Saturday. COW buses will arrive at each stop every 60 minutes.[2] COW buses do not operate on Sundays. Fleet[edit]

Cerritos On Wheels has a small fleet and mostly operates Propane powered ENC Transmark 32' ER buses, but also has a Ford E-450 unpainted white shuttle bus, and a Transdev marked blue ENC EZ Rider-II bus.
