Carnival Internet, a brand of Systems Solutions & Development Technologies Limited (SSD-TECH), is a fiber broadband internet service provider in Bangladesh. The Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC) ranks it as the country's largest fiber broadband based on the number of users.[1]

The ISP has established nationwide coverage in Bangladesh and is widely regarded for offering reliable internet service, even in the most remote areas.

History

[edit]

Carnival Internet was founded by Mahbubul Matin[2][3][4] on April 14, 2015.It was originally launched as "Doze Internet" under the ISP license of SSD-TECH [License No. 14.32.0000.702.45.113.21.013].[5] The service was authorized by the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) to provide network connectivity and internet services nationwide. In 2017, Doze Internet was rebranded as "Carnival Internet".[6][7]

The service was initially launched in cities like Dhaka, Chattogram, Cumilla, Mymensingh, and Sylhet. It quickly gained popularity across Bangladesh.

In 2024, the parent company of Carnival Internet, SSD-Tech, received an 'AA1' long-term credit rating from the Credit Rating Agency of Bangladesh (CRAB),[8][9] along with a 'ST-2' short-term rating and a stable outlook.

Infrastructure

[edit]

Carnival Internet provides internet services across all 64 districts of Bangladesh. The infrastructure includes six data centers located in Dhaka, Chattogram, Cumilla, Kushtia, and Nilphamari, with additional facilities under construction.

The network infrastructure includes equipment from Cisco and Juniper for network servers, and from Dell, HP, and Supermicro for system servers. Carnival Internet manages its network using a custom-built, multi-layered monitoring system designed to prevent congestion and address potential issues. This system is integrated with the company's operations support systems (OSS) and business support systems (BSS), collectively known as Purple Cube, along with its proprietary internet security platform, Audra.

Carnival Internet has established partnerships with leading technology companies, including Google, Meta, Cloudflare, and Baishan. Through these collaborations, the company has built one of the largest caching infrastructures in the country, offering caching services for major platforms like Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, YouTube, and TikTok.

The customer support facility offers various channels for assistance, including visual IVR, WhatsApp, live chat, chatbots, SMS, phone support, and email, providing users with multiple options to access help when needed.
