Carlton Ubaezuonu (born 22 April 1998) is a South African-born footballer.
Ubaezuonu was born in Johannesburg but grew up in the Republic of Ireland. He began playing football as a child for Lough Harps in Co. Roscommon.
Playing career
[edit]Dundalk
[edit]In 2014 Ubaezuonu signed for League of Ireland Premier Division club Dundalk. The winger featured regularly for the County Louth club's under-19 team in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017.[1] He made his first senior appearance in a Leinster Senior Cup game when he came on as a late substitute against Wexford F.C. in March 2015.
He started his first senior game in a 5-0 win over Crumlin United in the FAI Cup and made his League of Ireland Premier Division debut against St Patrick's Athletic on 25 October 2016. He was released by Dundalk in November 2018.
Galway United
[edit]Ubaezuonu joined Galway United on loan for the 2018 season.[2] He made his First Division debut as a second-half substitute in their 4-1 win over Athlone Town on 23 February 2018.[3] He scored his first goal for the club against Wexford F.C on 13 February 2018.[4]
Longford Town
[edit]Following his release from Dundalk, Ubaezuonu signed for Longford Town in December 2018. He spent one season with the midland's club.
