Camillo Pwamang, is a Ghanaian public servant who is the current the Deputy Clerk, Legislative Management services (LMS), of the parliament of Ghana. He is a professional public service and legislative management.

He started his career with the Parliamentary Service of Ghana in the position of Assistant Clerk and has steadily risen through the ranks in the past twenty-five (25) years. He has served in various procedural offices in the Parliamentary Service and as Secretary to the Parliamentary Service Board.

His areas of expertise spans procedural, administrative, managerial and information support to Parliament, Parliamentary Service Board, Leadership and Committees.

EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION

Camillo Pwamang had his secondary school education at Navrongo Secondary School from 1984 to 1989 where he obtained his Ordinary Level Certificate (O'Level) after which he obtained his Advanced Level Certificate (A'Level) at Accra Workers College 1992.

He further graduated from the University of Ghana with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy & Political Science in 1997. As part of his professional capacity development, he undertook and completed the Post Graduate Certificate, and Post-Graduate Diploma in Public Administration at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). He pursued a Master in Business Administration (Finance) at GIMPA.

He undertook legal studies; first graduating from the Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) at Mount crest University College, Accra in 2016 and the Qualifying Law Certificate from the Ghana School of Law in 2018. He was subsequently called to the Ghanaian Bar in October 2018.

Mr Camillo Pwamang is a Christian (Catholic). He is married with three children.

Throughout his career, Mr Pwamang has undertaken a number of professional and career development programmes in the form of Seminars, Trainings, and Workshops. In September. 2022, he participated in a training on "Governance, Risk and Compliance". Others include:

  • Training on the "The Agile Manager".
  • Seminar for Ghana Parliament organized by Shandong Foreign Trade Vocational College, China.
  • International Visitor Leadership Programme organised by the US State Department in September.
  • Training on "The Budget Cycle, Oversight and Public Accounts Committees" organized by Commonwealth Parliamentary Association & World Bank Institute
  • Internship at the Bureau of Parliamentary Studies and Training, Lok Sabha, India o
  • Seminar on Legislative Drafting, Advocacy and Memoranda Writing organized by National Democratic Institute – Ghana

CAREER PROGRESSION

He became the Deputy Clerk, Legislative Management Services in July, 2023 till date.

In January 2018 he became the Principal Assistant Clerk.

From August 2006 to January 2018 he was the Senior Assistant Clerk.

From January 2002 to August 2006 he was Assistant Clerk Grade I.

October 1998 to January 2002 he was the Assistant Clerk Grade II

WORK EXPERIENCE In Jan 2017 he held the position of the Head, Minority Secretariat, Parliamentary Service which he Liaised with the Clerk to Parliament and management to provide administrative and information support to the Leadership and Member of the Minority/Majority Caucus. In July 2009 to Jan 2017 he was the Head, Majority Secretariat, of the Parliamentary Service which he Coordinated the implementation of the departmental strategy plan. March 2012 he was the Clerk, CPA, Africa Region Secretariat, Tanzania which he was Clerk to the Programme, Planning and Finance(PPF) sub-committee and the Budget Committee of the Executive Committee. Advised the chairpersons on matters of procedure and the financial regulations. July 2022 he was the Assistant Coordinator, Planning Committee on Hosting of 66th CPC of which Assisting the Clerk to Parliament and Management to plan and coordinate the hosting of the 66th CPC in Accra, Ghana. April 2021 to March 2022 he was the Secretary, Parliamentary Service Board of which he Arranged the business of the board, tracked the implementation of decision; recorded and distributed minutes of Board meetings and maintained accurate record of proceedings of the Board. Jan 2001 to Jan 2022 he was the Parliamentary Committee Clerk and Advised Chairperson and Members and provided general administrative support. First Clerk to facilitate the public sittings of the Public Accounts Committee in 2005. Nov 2009 to April 2021 he was the Assistant Secretary, Parliamentary Service Board which he Assisted the Secretary to arrange the business of the Board, maintain records, draft and keep the minutes, and track the implementation of decisions of the Board. In Aug 2001 to Jan 2009 he was the Assistant Secretary, Parliamentary Service Entity Tender Committee. He Assisted the Secretary arrange the business of the Tender Board, review bids for projects and services, maintain records and drafted and kept minutes of the Tender Board. In 2009 to 2017 he was the Technical Committee on the Review of the Standing Orders of Parliament. he was the Member of the Working Group which developed the Corporate Strategic Plan for Parliament and the Parliamentary Service for the period 2020 to 2024. In 2006 to 2009 he was the Member, of Parliamentary Service Team to Support PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC). he played the duties as a Member of the Team constituted by the Clerk to work with PwC that developed the 2006 to 2009 Strategic Plan. In 2005 to 2008 he was the Member of Secretariat, Steering Committee on Establishment of PTI
