Better Than Work was an American Blues rock band founded in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The band formed in 2006 through the Pittsburgh Musician's Classified Ads forum site[1] and had garnered a supportive following within their hometown by playing local venues. With only releasing one self-engineered studio album[2] in 2008, the band would mainly consist of Mike Plutt (lead vocals and guitar), Jake Werkmeister (saxophone, bass and engineer), Gabe Antkowski (flute), Jeff Martin (drums) and Brian Masur (bass).

Unemployment Line (2008)[edit]

Album cover for "Unemployment Line" featuring frontman, Mike Plutt, attempting to break into his truck after accidentally locking himself out.

While performing many shows within the Pittsburgh area, the band would also focus on their debut project, recorded and engineered entirely in Jeff Martin's basement. The album would be released on the band's official MySpace page on February 19, 2008 and consisted of 14 tracks.[3] Due to unforeseen circumstances regarding certain members and creative differences, the group would eventually disband later that same year.

  1. "Sunday Drive" – 4:49
  2. "Right Track" – 4:04
  3. "Right Now" – 3:24
  4. "All Nighter" – 2:34
  5. "Come Bitch at Me" – 0:59
  6. "The Tres" – 7:43
