Draft:Battle of Dattani

Battle of Dattani was fought on 17th October 1583, between Jagmal Singh and Surtan of Sirohi.

Jagmal approached Akbar to help him annex Sirohi from Surtan,the royal nominee of Sirohi. Akbar sent two of his Generals and the royal army to assist Jagmal in annexing Sirohi.

On 17th October 1583, Jagmal attacked Abu, where Surtan was fortified and one of the moste ferocious battles of Rajasthan was fought.

Army of Akbar was crushingly defeatedby a relatively smaller army. The two Rajput generals sent by Akbar,Rai Singh and Koli Singh,along with Jagmal,were killed by Surtan,making Surtan the undisputed king of Sirohi.
