María Gisela Tunkl-Iturbide (2 October 1912 – 27 January 1981) was the head of the Imperial House of Mexico in 1949.

Biography[edit]

Maria Gisela was born at Temesvár, Austria-Hungary, now Romania, on 2 October 1912. She is the youngest child of Baron Johann Tunkl von Aschbrunn und Hohenstadte and Baroness María Josefa de Iturbide y Mikos.

Maria Gisela was married to Count Gustav Adolf von Götzen on 8 June 1940. Following his death, she married Ottavio Stefano della Porta on 15 August 1959.

She voluntarily surrendered claim in favor of her son Maximilian von Götzen-Iturbide.

Family[edit]

Maria Josepha had two children from her first marriage:

  • Count Maximilian von Götzen-Iturbide (2 March 1944), who married Maria Anna von Franceschi and had two children, Count Ferdinand von Götzen-Iturbide and Countess Emmanuella von Götzen Iturbide.
  • Countess Emmanuela von Götzen-Iturbide (12 September 1945), who married Patrick McAulay.

She also married Ottavio Stefano della Porta.
