Atari Explorer (ISSN 0882-3340), often stylized as ATARI EXPLORER, was an American home computer magazine that was published from 1985 to 1993 primarily focusing on users of the Atari 400/800/XL/XE, ST/STacy/ST Book/TT/Falcon, Atari Transputer Workstation, and Portfolio line of computers along with occasional coverage of Atari’s videogames consoles including the Atari 2600, 5200, 7800, XE Game System, and Lynx.[1] The magazine was an Atari-dedicated magazine and a direct successor of Atari’s previous Atari-dedicated magazine: The Atari Connection. The premier issue made its debut in February 1985 with a retail price of $3.00.[2]

In 1989, a spin off magazine: Atarian (ISSN 1043-9064) was launched to primarily focus on users of Atari’s line of videogames consoles. Atarian was also a direct successor to Atari’s previous Atari videogames dedicated magazine: Atari Age.

The last issue of Atari Explorer published was the January/February 1993 issue.[3]
