Submission declined on 11 February 2025 by Devonian Wombat (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia. This submission does not appear to be written in the formal tone expected of an encyclopedia article. Entries should be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources. Please rewrite your submission in a more encyclopedic format. Please make sure to avoid peacock terms that promote the subject.

Comment: The tone issues have largely not been addressed, especially the improper use of 'Dr. Fontes' instead of 'Fontes' to describe the subject. The only secondary sources are about TLH Reckoning rather than Fontes anyway; an article on the team could be notable if written. Devonian Wombat (talk) 06:42, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
Dr. Ashlee T. Fontes
[edit]Dr. Ashlee T. Fontes is a sports executive with experience in women’s soccer and sports management. A former Division I and professional athlete,[1] she was the first woman of color to serve on the United Soccer Coaches board of directors and the first woman to lead a professional sports franchise in the United States.[2]
Early Life
[edit]Fontes attended Rochester Adams High School, where she was part of two state championship-winning soccer teams.[3]
Playing Career
[edit]Fontes played soccer throughout her youth and received multiple Division I college soccer offers. She attended Florida State University (FSU), where she set the record for minutes played and least goals conceded in a season. She was a member of the FSU team that reached its first ACC Championship game in 2001.[4]
Contributions to Women’s Soccer
[edit]In 2022, Fontes became the first woman of color elected to the board of directors for United Soccer Coaches.[5] She previously worked with the Washington Spirit, (NWSL team), as Chief Operating Officer and Director of Operations for D.C. United Women of the United Soccer League (USL).[5]
Through her management company, NIKAO Management, she was involved in starting the Girls Academy (GA)[6], a youth soccer league that formed after the U.S. Soccer Development Academy dissolved in 2020. She developed partnerships with Major League Soccer (MLS), Adidas, and U.S. Youth Soccer (USYS) to support the league’s development.[7] Dr. Fontes also holds the NSCAA Premier Diploma and the Advanced Youth National Diploma.
Tallahassee (TLH) Reckoning
[edit]In 2023, Fontes founded TLH Reckoning, a pre-professional women’s soccer club in Tallahassee, Florida. The team competes in the USL W League and USL Academy, with its inaugural season taking place in 2024. Home games are played at Gene Cox Stadium.[8]
