Anthony Manuel Lopez (born September 10, 1978) is a Cuban-American attorney. He is the founder and CEO of the property and casualty insurance claims law firm, Your Insurance Attorney. Lopez is also known for his appearances on Bravo's Real Housewives of Miami alongside his fiancée, Dr. Nicole Martin, during the show's fifth and sixth seasons.
Biography
[edit]Anthony Lopez was born on September 10, 1978, in Miami, Florida, the third of five children to Carlos Lopez and Colleen Daunt.[1] He attended MAST Academy in Key Biscayne, Florida, and then Florida State University (FSU), where he participated in the crew team while managing multiple businesses to fund his education.[2] Lopez earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida International University (FIU) in 2002 and a Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University College of Law in 2005, where he received multiple book awards.[3]
Lopez is a licensed board-certified civil trial lawyer who represents policyholders against insurance companies in cases involving property damage, personal injury, and health insurance claims.[4] In 2007, he founded Your Insurance Attorney, which has grown to employ over 250 staff members with offices across Florida, Georgia, Colorado, and North Carolina.[5]
Career

[edit]After graduating from law school in 2005, Lopez joined Marin, Eljaiek, & Lopez, P.L., a boutique litigation firm, where he developed his skills in commercial litigation, insurance defense, and plaintiff work.[6] The firm later became Marin, Eljaiek, Lopez, & Martinez, P.L. before separating in 2008, leading Lopez to establish Your Insurance Attorney.[7]
Your Insurance Attorney
[edit]Your Insurance Attorney was founded in Florida in 2019 with a small team of fewer than five people. It has since expanded to include over 250 employees nationwide, with offices added in Georgia, Colorado, and North Carolina.[8] Lopez’s face has become an emblem for Your Insurance Attorney, along with a social media marketing campaign flagshipped by the hashtag #FearTheBeard.
Notable Case: State Farm Florida Insurance Company v. Charles Sanders, et al.
[edit]One significant case handled by Your Insurance Attorney is State Farm Florida Insurance Company v. Charles Sanders, et al., which was brought before the Florida Supreme Court.[9] Lopez, alongside Joe De Prado and Steven Gurian, represented Charles and Diana Sanders in a lawsuit against State Farm for failing to honor their homeowner's insurance policy following Hurricane Irma. The case, filed on August 13, 2018, concluded successfully for the Sanders in 2021, setting a legal precedent for similar insurance disputes in Florida.[10]
Philanthropy and Other Ventures
[edit]Lopez is actively involved in various philanthropic efforts. He has contributed to the Kristi House Children’s Advocacy Center in Miami, serving on its board of directors.[11] Additionally, he has supported the Monica Burguera Foundation by raising funds and awareness for boater safety programs. Lopez also serves as the chairman of the Consumer Protection Alliance, which advocates for Floridians' constitutional rights to access the court system, particularly for those lacking financial resources.[12]

[edit]Lopez is a motivational speaker who encourages youth to pursue their passions beyond monetary success. He is an active pilot, having obtained his pilot certificate in 2016 and a jet type rating in 2020, certified on the HondaJet and Phenom 300E.[16] An amateur race car driver, Lopez competes with a BMW M2 CS Racing Clubsport at the Concours Club, where he is a founding member. Additionally, he is a car collector with a diverse collection, including a 1927 Bugatti Type 40 and a 2023 Lamborghini Ultimate Roadster.
Lopez is engaged to Dr. Nicole Martin, a star on Real Housewives of Miami and an anesthesiologist. The couple met in Las Vegas in 2015 and became engaged on December 31, 2021, in Aspen. They have a son, Greyson, and a daughter, Genevieve.[17]
In real estate, Lopez sold his former residence in Coral Gables, Florida, for $44 million and purchased a waterfront estate in the same area for $22 million, with plans to invest an additional $10 million in its development.[18]
